Whitney CANON

Crazy crack-addled warbler Whitney Houston! You get nine ticks to determine which of her UK singles are to be considered part of the DIVA CANON!

[Poll #767545]

I cannot imagine how anyone could disapprove of Whitney

My favourites are 'I Will Always Love You' (AMAZING weepy powerballad - much better than original) and 'It's Not Right' which is SUFFUSED with hammy diva-isms beneath the cold-as-ice production.

Mariah more mental than Whitney because Whitney's mentalism is almost entirely due to DRUGZ whereas Mariah is just crayzee.

yeh but Lex has convinced me somehow. Carey has come out with all kinds of crazy comments whilst being apparently 'straight'. Most of these just amounted to Hilton-esque un-PC/just plain naive comments like 'oh I wish I could be as skinny as those Ethiopians' and what have you.

mariah never said the "thin kids" thing (as wikipedia points out)

when she came onstage at live 8 i thought she had with her a entire choir of PYGMIES to say fvck you to those who believe she did say it! but they were ordinary-sized kids sadly

she is as mad as cake and twice as good you

Also Carey has the best riders.

Though obviously her rival in this field is not Houston but LOPEZ.

Are we talking about the perks she demands to perform or is this some newfangled term for body parts that you KIDZ are using?

Lex's logic is powerful but Whitney has just shown us too much on that reality show of Bobby's. She's just too far gone, even if Mariah is jumping motorcycles over flaming Pepsi signs nowadays.

I keep trying to play 'Queen Of The Night' in my head but it turns almost instantly into En Vogue's 'Free Your Mind'.

Yes, I have tickyboxed it and I don't even like Whitters.

it was good but carbon copy of original so a sense of 'why bother' pervades tickage.

I loved it! Although stevem is right about the 'carbon copy' thing, it's one of those cases where the slightly 'better' (ie., newer) production values mean I enjoy it more.

Mariah strikes me as pretty normal.
