This is a revelation of SEISMIC proportions for me - I always thought Cola Boy were faceless dance dudes with random session singer like Opus III (and haha yes like St Etienne too)!

I saw the Cola Boy video when I was like 9 and unaware of St Etienne and didn't know who S Cracknell was - clearly she didn't imprint herself on my mind enough to recognise her later on...

she didn't sing though. I mean there is a version of 7 Ways with crackers singing knocking about (on the back of a promo 12" i think), and sure enough it's better than the original, but the ones that were officially released WERE sung by a random session singer...
