A very mixed bag, Now 49 - for every Destiny's Child making a (somewhat delayed) bow in a Now poll, there's a Dido. For every Mis-Teeq, a Marti Pellow. A number of strong candidates should make for an intriguing poll.

The last Now poll was the closest for AGES, with Gorillaz finally beating Shaggy and Nelly F by one vote - "Clint Eastwood" is the lowest-rated winner ever, which makes up slightly for it being the first one I don't actually like.

Actually, this Now is where the FT/ILM era really kicks off for me. I'm amazed that Romeo isn't doing better, in that light.

I'm trying to get into the mindset of someone who consciously did not tick 'Romeo', and failing.

Then again there were people who did not tick 'Try Again' even when reminded of it. And some people who forgot 'Case Of The Ex' naming no names.

76% ticky would have had a good run at several of the last 10 NOWS.

My big regret actually with the Now polls is that I made it a straight first-past-the-post poll rather than taking the top 4 through to a final in the next poll, would have more accurately rewarded love as well as liking. Sclub would still win this one I suspect given the best poll.

FPTP wouldn't have worked so well initially, with so many current voters not remembering Old Songs - there was probably a good tipping point where it might have been good to introduce it but lord knows no one noticed at the time, and yadda yadda hindsight.

There's always the possibility of going back and doing a top 5 of each heavily-voted Now and doing, um, SOMETHING with them.

I didn't give not ticking Romeo even a second thought. That record has always left me completely cold, I've never seen why people love it so much at all.
