Now 35, and we're still deep in the heart of 1996, a year I didn't much enjoy on any level, and this compilation isn't exactly beckoning me back to it. The Spice Girls ended up equal second on Now 34, tying with Underworld and two votes behind shoXoR winner Gina G: they get another go this time, as do all-conquering Pulp (with an BALLAD). Beyond that....well, I'll save my fingers for the comments boxes.

There's lots of rub which I can't remember but the synapses are particularly untickled by Jeremy Healy and Amos' "Stamp!", the Damage and 911 tracks, and BBE (though I know it's quite a famous one)

Healy & Amos = not that bad hardbag

the Damage track is not bad but no 'Ghetto Womance'

i still quite like the BBE even tho it heralded the popularity of minimal trance bobbins that didn't really do the genre any favours.
