poptimists in "listening to pop" shock
Apr. 4th, 2006 12:22 pm
i'm only playing wit u. haven't felt inspired to blog anything in ages, hence not even bothering to do the weekly poptimists chart. Too busy reading interesting books about BRANEs (not attomickbranes) and doing things that involve trips to HOMEBASE and WICKES (i love being against the trend BECAUSE I AM INDIE). (Also, as of this morning I'm officially "concerned" about where ILX is going.) So this is a token to say I AM STILL HERE, INTERNETS. I am jaunty, hear me roar. like a little kitten.

Date: 2006-04-04 01:25 pm (UTC)you'll be ignoring generally well-behaved, articulate people with interesting things to say, who are also at times complete fvckheads (if I have your respective targets right).
the fvckheadery grossly outweights the former imo. nothing they've written strikes me personally as really worthwhile or worth preserving on my screen. but then, maybe i love it rly. put it this way, the people who annoy me, i don't want to be around them IRL either, in the same pub or whatever. so why be on the same online space as them either? you could take these people off ILX completely for me and i'd be fine with that. like when people leave the board because of such problems - it's fine, the board carries on, some people miss them and others don't.
so there's a facility to take someone off the board in your eyes, even if that is an illusion. i am interested and curious about the effects of this no doubt. i want to try it and see what happens. perhaps, as you say, it will fail. perhaps it will be a roaring sucess (at least in that i won't want to turn it off again).
You keep repeating that last sentence, and it keeps not being true.
well nor is it untrue. it won't be proven either way until it is tried out by some people. i suppose as with reg-only it will just replace old problems with new ones, but that's not really a reason NOT to try it.
