Many thanks to Moggy for holding the fort in my absence. I return to find that we have a new number 1 in the shape of Diana Vickers! Blimey.

Not rating Tina and Gerry as per my policy on re-entries, which is that I ignore re-entries unless I've got a reason not to; my reason not to with 3OH!3 is that "Don't Trust Me" is as virulent and shaky as ever and was one of the best songs to receive nearly universal condemnation in my Web hood - not that it doesn't court condemnation.

Diana Vickers "Once": Sketchily quirky? Approximately quirky? Meta quirky? And then guitars, to let us know the chorus has arrived. I'd say from this evidence that Diana's no Didi Benami, but she does manage to eke out a tick from me with the cleverly paradoxical repetition of "once." BORDERLINE TICK.

Chipmunk ft. Esmee Denters "Until You Were Gone": Fine rap voice saying nothing, Esmee being nothing, and though Chipmunk's saying "You took off quicker than my career" made me smile for half a second, the rest is rote regret. NO TICK.

Glee Cast ft. Lea Michele "Gives You Hell": High-pitched, weird, and nervy, Lea vastly improves a track that was callow and equivocal in its original. May be the first time Glee has improved anything. BORDERLINE TICK.

3OH!3 "Don't Trust Me": I'll just link what I wrote last July. The song remains snotty and uneasy. TICK TICK TICK.

Glee Cast ft. Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele "Hello": The guy phrases and holds his tone all right but his voice is average inexpressiveness. I do think this is arranged nicely, just enough piano to enrich the sound without layering everything in sap. BORDERLINE NONTICK.
