A 100% majority of 5 has meant we can find ourselves in the far-distant land of 2008 with Now 71. This is pretty blimmin' good one, I must say, although with some terrifying lows from Steve Mac and Peter Kay.
Yes; disc 2 starting out with a run of dreariness ending with a Verve flourish is definitely not as enticing as the poppy start of 1.
The structure of Now CDs has vaguely fascinated me; there's the big pop hits, then some stuff they threw on because the record label said they had to take it to get Katy Perry, then the indie, then the dance.
i have this one (as it is ODD NUMBERED), and i ticked 19. weird how much, in retrospect, i like that saturdays song. (i was not sure about them at all. esp after rub Dep Mode cover - and yazoo sample)
Erratum
Date: 2010-04-19 02:49 pm (UTC)Is the Platnum song a cover of the MJ Cole? I have ticked it on the assumption that it is.
