Digging through the Tunisian part of the interweb to find Top Tunies [DoUC?] for the Pop World Cup, the manager for said country was very sad to have to let Da Arab MC's go - on account of them being Israeli Arabs, not Tunisian. Even though they are on every Tunisian hip hop site around (and there's a few of those, I now know).

Anyhow, as israel is not in the World Cup, there's no harm in posting a YSI to their video for "Born Here". Militant pro-Palestinian rap, but none of that fashionable terrorism-condoning nonsense that gets you a 300+ thread on ILM. Rather, theirs is a positive message: we were born here, so we'll stay here, thank you very much. Now let us build houses please.

Superficial comment: reminded me of a lot of rap français (most of the good stuff is by north Africans pissed off at discrimination at the hands of the French government) tho' as you say DAM strike a positive note.

Even more superficial comment: I liked the arabic equiv. here of the "bouncing ball over the lyrics".

Good, glad you liked it. This gives me hope for the Tunisian bid for Pop World Cup glory!
And yes, it reminds me of French hiphop too (stuff like NTM and Assassin).

I think most of this is in Hebrew, btw, except for the chorus (which is subtitled in the video, in Hebrew). Can anyone confirm?

I want to know if I get bonus points if I field a 93-year-old player! I have found some Angolan music from 1913! (I have 32 Angolan tracks so far, but I'm not sure any of them are better than Portugese second division, really.)

(Also, what can I do with bonus points if I do get them, given that it all depends on the public vote?)
