The wait is over: THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY NINE tracks were mentioned in the votes for the Poptimists 2009 poll, and EIGHTY FIVE!!! of them got more than one vote. Today I'll be covering off the ones outside the Top 50 (so, erm, in the top 85) and for the rest of the week you'll be finding out answers to the crucial questions - what won? who got shafted by vote-splitting? WHERE DID "MY GIRLS" PLACE? And so on.

So here's 85-61. They don't get video links but if you love one of these tracks link it up in the comments, eh?

85. Jamie T - "Sticks And Stones"
84. Champion DJ - "Baako"
83. Fever Ray - "When I Grow Up" (some points for Lissvik remix)
82. Blackout Crew - "Dialled"
81. Britney Spears - "3" (some points for Bedbugs remix)
79=. Jeremih - "Birthday Sex"
79=. Mungolian Jet Set - "Creepy"
78. Taylor Swift - "Love Story"
77. Lily Allen - "Fuck You"
76. Julian Casablancas - "11th Dimension"
75. Lily Allen - "Who'd Have Known"
74. Chrisette Michelle - "Epiphany"
73. Keri Hilson - "Intuition"
72. Timberlee ft Tosh - "Heels"
71. Royal P - "Between Us"
70. Keri Hilson ft Ne-Yo and Kanye West - "Knock You Down"
69. David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland - "When Love Takes Over"
68. The Saturdays - "Forever Is Over"
67. Ke$ha - "Tik Tok"
66. Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Pow"
65. Ms Dynamite - "Bad Gyal"
64. Jamie Foxx ft T-Pain - "Blame It"
62=. Moderat - "Rusty Nails"
62=. Baby Dollz - "My Cookie"
61. Ellie Goulding - "Under The Sheets"

Top 20s were scored as follows: 25-20-18-17-16..down to 1. Tracks are ordered based on 1. No. of points received, 2. No. of voters (higher=better), 3. Highest individual placing. Where two mixes were nominated points were combined and the highest voted mix declared the 'official' placing though alternatives will be linked in the countdown. That's it I think.

Interesting results! Some big hitters (Taylor, BEPs) way down the list.

Hurrah for "My Cookie" making it. Video is here:

pfft "My Girls" is so 2008. It's all about "What Would I Want? Sky" now.

Champion DJ's "Baako" here; don't actually know if it's from 2009, just know that it comes sometime between Cher's "Believe" and the present. And I've not heard anything else like it, a primal cry turned to tune.

2 of my votes here I think, so obv. I'm disappointed that they didn't place higher. Of the ones I've heard on this list, I like pretty much all of them - with the exception of the Fever Ray which I must have heard, but the album as a whole made v. little impact at all on me. Although hardly the biggest WTF I have with last year's critical consensus. I like the Mungolian Jetset CD but I suspect that I wouldn't be able to pick or even identify a single track of it, so it didn't cross my mind to vote for it.

Exciting! Lots of Lily Allen album tracks mean I'm really hopeful for my vote there.

Oh crap, rejigging my ballot from The Singles Jukebox (where we didn't cover it) has made me forget The Fear AGAIN :(

Four of mine are on here, so that's 20 percent already; surprised "Boom" and "3" didn't do better, didn't know what to expect from "Heels," and was delighted to see "Baako." As for the rest, I like almost all I've heard, surprised "Love Story" even showed since for most people it's last year, thought "Birthday Sex" might go higher, and Lily's got more to come but Keri might have shot her wad.

Love Story was released in Europe (inc UK) in March 2009, and lingered on the music video channels all summer. However, as I have learned, sticking around on 4Music or The Hits forever is a poor predictor of Poptimist end of year success, as the Keri Kanye Ne-Yo track also proves.

i have no real right to comment, having not voted, but there are some in there that i thought would be quite high, and oddly all in a row 66--69. (or is this an artifice of low scoring and Tom's ordering scheme)

Moderat!

I will now take a moment for victory arms. \o/! High-five to my fellow Moderat voter(s)!

Things I didn't vote for but that were under very serious consideration, out of this lot: Baby Dollz (came *this close* to being my #20), Bad Gyal and Blame It (although it would have been the New Devices Remix).

I'd completely forgotten about When Love Takes Over! I was really loving it over the summer, when it was everywhere.

I was (one of?) the other(s) - pleased to see it placed, I hoped I wasn't throwing away my vote.
