My nominations thread brings all the poptimists to the yard!

# 10 song per person limit on stuff that didn't chart in the UK top 40 in 2004 (except for koganbot, credoimprobus, myself and jeff_worrell who get 11).

# Nominate as many charting hits as you like.

# Nominating fewer than 10 non-charting songs is perfectly fine.

# Do check everyhit.co.uk for chart placings: if your song might be spelled weirdly and doesn't show up in the results, try searching by artist instead of title (or vice versa) or using 'contains the word' instead of 'first few letters'.

# I strongly recommend posting nominations in a new comment thread rather than as a reply to another comment, as I am lazy and therefore unlikely to go digging around in nested comments etc.

2004 was my blackout year for pop - from Feb to October inclusive I had no telly, little to no internet and the East End's finest pirate radio stations blocking out most of the airwaves, so most of these I heard in 2005 or later. I had no idea how These Words went until 2006!

As said just above, I am not really qualified to comment on how the state of pop in 2004 compared to previous ones, but sod it: on a first glance through everyhit I found less stuff I generally liked, and more songs I love unreservedly and haven't got sick of (eg Toxic, The Show). Is this anyone's favourite year for pop this decade?
