My contribution to this heat was Play's "I Must Not Chase the Boys", so for reference, here it is. Catchy pre-teen pop melody, with nice bouncy instrumentation and lyrics. I don't generally like Play, but this one is a personal favorite (so is "Disco Hippie"):



This video is ridiculous. It takes itself way too seriously.

That said, everyone needs to listen to Wesley Clarke's It'll Be Okay! Lovely, warm comfort bosh, with great little repeating vocal collage woven through the track alongside the main vocal. (Here's a zshare backup as well if divshare gives anyone crap.)

I had to look up the Avril (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW2LTnzD-vE) to remember how it went (fyi it's the one that sounds like Runaway by the Corrs) - EVERYONE knows how Jump goes thx to awesome Pointer Sisters original, and perhaps a percentage of these dudes have forgotten how rubbish the GA version is?

I've no complaints - You have been consistent (i.e. putting songs in the year they were first released, as opposed to when they peaked in the charts). Just worked out badly (or maybe not, we still don't know) for this particular song.

Tho 'Hold On Me' is brilliant boyband electropop that really deserves more of a footnote in history other than 'dudes who weren't good enough to make it into One True Voice':

I FVCKING HATE 50 Cent and consider him a blight upon the musical landscape but let's be honest here: if you can listen to In Da Club and not find yourself vaguely swaggering and with a sudden desire for very expensive drinks then, well, you're probably more than a bit wrong.
