Best Song of 2002: Heat #6
Oct. 6th, 2009 12:20 pmHilariously LCD Soundsystem and QOTSA have tied yet again, with 20 votes each. That leaves me to cast the deciding vote! I actually had a drunken row on Friday with
boyofbadgers about how bad a concept for a song 'Losing My Edge' was but he rightly pointed out that I hadn't actually heard it! I shall go away and listen to both songs with an open mind and announce my decision in the comments.
[Poll #1467164]
Extra ticks this heat go to:
skyecaptain,
koganbot and
jeff_worrell. See above for instructions on how to go back and fill in the 'new favourite' question later on, if you want to do your ticks RIGHT NOW.
- You now only get SIX TICKS over the three bits of the poll, unless you played the investigation game on the previous heat and told us all your new favourite (and why). Put your new favourite in the box below and get an extra tick for heat #7!
- The top five will still go through to the next stage, but now it's going to be that little bit tougher to get there. If your favourite song isn't doing so well then try and convince people in the comments as to why it's so good!
- If you want to fill in the 'best song I only heard today' box later, change your vote (or tick too many by mistake), you can edit your votes by clicking on 'Poll #12345' then 'Fill Out Poll'.
- You have until Friday lunchtime to vote.

can't be arsed ticking sugababes
Date: 2009-10-06 11:31 am (UTC)REALLY, the only song that should get through is SHE FOOKIN' 'ATES ME but sadly there are another four obvious ticks. The 6th is completely up in the air!
Haven't ticked any from the first section yet so if anyone can convince me of the merits of those I am more likely to ticky...
Shy FX!

Date: 2009-10-06 11:40 am (UTC)I really didn't like this when it came out (due to the wibbly vocal) but it totally makes sense plonked in the middle of The Private Press. And the bit where it goes all wonky at about 2 mins in is great.

Date: 2009-10-06 11:44 am (UTC)Sorry Heidi, I guess I've just overheard it and each time I hear that backwards snare I always think "oh there's the backwards snare" and it annoys the sugar right out of me, if you know what I mean.

Date: 2009-10-06 12:30 pm (UTC)Also I'm interested in what you think about 'Losing My Edge', Kat - I can't think of many other songs where "what it's about, maan" so completely ignores what it sounds like.
QOTSA v LCDS listening notes!
