Get ready to redress some grievances! Because you (very very quietly) demanded it, I've rescued forty-five tracks from the 2001 Best Song of the Decade heats.

Forty of them were the top 5 non-qualifying tracks from their respective heats. An additional five have been added based on my personal whim a rigorous mathematical formula of percentages and suchlike.

They all enter the Second Chance Saloon. Only the top 5 will leave, to enter a final which will determine which of them is best. (and maybe Kat will be nice to the winner later when we finally get to the proper finals or something)

As is customary, you get ten ticks. Use as many of them as you like.

This poll will close next Wednesday lunchtime, so I can run the final while we're still doing the nominations for 2002.

A Spotify playlist with most but not all of the tracks is available here:

I don't remember this being as hard last time! Though obviously it should be.

Yeah, I found this much harder than any of the main sequence polls!

Started with 22; I know it's second-chance saloon and all, but still. Getting it down to ten involved throwing out a lot of great stuff. I think my end result may actually be totally random.

ha, even i've started with 20, and i've been consistently ticking less than 10 in the main polls...

Yep, I usually struggle to tick ten. This time; had to throw out lots of indie, even threw out the Dandy Warhols. I know, right? Anyhow: fast, quick, clean; take no prisoners, that's my advice.

All of the songs in the lead are fucking gross. Strokes, Dandy Warhols, Andrew WK, the fucking Moldy fucking Peaches with one of the WORST SONGS I HAVE EVER HEARD? Can we just cancel poptimists.

In fairness, you can't be that suprised that these have a popular following: you did run actual tactical campaigns to deny some of them their rightful place :)
