possibly i should start just doing a 'things i've heard on bobby friction' dump post at the end of the week or something (actually i did think we ought to maybe have a "werld music" thread at some point but i kind of find the idea of "world music" as opposed to anything else* offensive so idk idk) but having got up at 4r5e o'clock and walked four miles and being generally a bit miserable, this song just well pepped me up and is generally very, very ace in a sort of mildly black eyed peas fashion

also awesome in a different black eyed peas type fashion is this, which i've basically been listening to on repeat since friday afternoon-

that goddamn beat is so addictive.

on a different note, i'm really sorry about the continuing absence of soulja boy hold'em aka ORGAFUN; i never got my internet connected in the house i was in before and am now, err, "no fixed abode" for at least a little while so i guess it's gunna have to be binned and maybe restarted in autumn or something, if i ever manage to actually live somewhere longer than ten minutes. sorry dudes! :(

*except space music obvs.

I always disliked the term 'world music', as if pop/rock/etc. are not part of the world. It always reminds me of the fact that what is now called the R&B Chart in America used to be called the "Race Chart" - i.e. that was where music by black people got to be listed. It's the same linguistic error, clearly, but I think there is a similar ghettoising instinct in there too.
