Okay, so while the wonderful katstevens is getting us to nominate our candidates for 2001 this week, I figured some of you might have itchy ticking fingers.

So, I've gathered together forty-four tracks that didn't quite qualify for the 2000 final. If you feel one of your favourites got a bad draw in the heats, here's your chance to extract some measure of justice. It's a second chance.

(Kat's hinted that she might let the winner of this poll sneak through into the finals proper. No promises though.)

The selection procedure to qualify for this second chance:

* Tracks that already qualified were ignored, obv.
* Then all tracks that got 15 votes or more in their heat qualified...
* Then any tracks which were in the top ten of their heat qualified, so there are a minimum five tracks taken from each heat.

This resulted in the forty-four tracks below. Sorry if this methodology still excluded your favourite track(s); perhaps somebody will make a Third Chance poll? ;)


Rules gubbins:

* You get TEN TICKS IN TOTAL over the three bits of the poll. The top five will go through to a deciding round, over the weekend.

* You have until Thursday lunchtime-ish to make your selections. I'll take the status of the poll when I get round to checking it that lunchtime as final, even if voting changes after that deadline.

* Tick fewer than ten if you like.

* If you change your mind, you can edit your votes by clicking on 'Poll #12345' then 'Fill Out Poll'.

* UK chart placing is in brackets.

* Rep in comments etc.

Am kind of PO'd that the only one of these I skipped I missed my chance at pushing the Alizee through, which happens to be the only track of the ENTIRE lot I care about. XD;

again, didn't consider 'Hip Hop' or 'Hot Boyz' b/c of the dates rather than their quality, but I was made very happy on Saturday evening by some dude blasting Dead Prez from his phone on the overground.

And then he followed it with Crazy Cousinz' 'Inflation'! And then Wookie & Ny's 'Falling Again'! I nearly died of happiness it was like my perfect playlist.

Yeah luckily I had a solid 10 that I love love love, the rest are varying degrees of like. I should probably hear this QOTSA song, they're the last boys-with-guitars band I remember actually liking (though the song that I remember is 'No One Knows').
