My sense of time seems entirely fractured around here - I would have sworn that Craig David was five years before Outkast. And Phoenix? Is this the same hairy neobaggy Phoenix that was still going 3 years later?

I just have a really strong memory of seeing ILX going "Holy fucking shit, have you heard B.O.B.?", but I suppose it might have been on Freaky Trigger.

2000 was a great year; lots of good nindie and twee and electronica (and combinations of these) going on around this time too - in addition to Broadcast and Ladytron, I mean.

One could easily fill one's putative "Top 100 songs of the noughties" list with tracks from this particular year if one wasn't careful...
