A lot of the songs that come to mind immediately are ones I recall learning for a WW2 themed thingie we did in the early years of primary school (lots of mentions of barracks = dead giveaway). And there's a range of songs which in my head are "playground songs" (and have rude versions of course) but come from music hall, eg "Pop Goes The Weasel" I guess!
