some kind of buffet
Feb. 1st, 2009 07:42 pmbuffetlibre.net are doing another massive 'rewind' collection for free. the basic principle is quite good electro(ish) acts and djs have a crack at doing a load of covers of old(ish) songs and it's reasonably listenable for the most part. the last one was pretty good, even if the frankmusik cover of 'every breath you take' was quite mesmerisingly bad as 'good artists covering not-totally-rubbish songs' go.
anyway, i thought you lot might be interested seeing as it's free and everything. from listening to it thus far i can say the au revoir simone cover of 'here is the news' is pretty good and there's a far-from-unpleasant remix of 'let me be your fantasy.'
you can download it all on their site, here: http://www.buffetlibredjs.net/ (scroll down for the .zip)
edit: the freezepop cover of 'only you' by the flying pickets (listed as yazoo for no doubt complex reasons) is pretty much awesome.

Date: 2009-02-02 11:35 am (UTC)i was surprised how many really good acts they'd managed to get in this time. not that of the 90 tracks there isn't quite a bit of dross but there's a lot of really good stuff, too.
