[identity profile] freakytigger.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] poptimists
Twenty-five Twenty-seven Thirty good people have now sent their top ten tracks to leagueofpop@gmail.com for the Poptimists Tracks Of 2008 List. The official deadline is TONIGHT but stragglers will doubtless be indulged. Prominent posters I've yet to hear from include the group's staunchest defenders of McFly, the Rolling Stones, Elbow, The Mountain Goats, and MGMT. But even if you are but the tiniest lurker I still want your vote! It's a brutal three-way battle for first place with some highly unexpected entries in the top 10 as stands...

A brutal three-way battle for first place? "Wearing My Rolex" has got to be one of them, but what are the other two? Santogold? Rick Springfield? (Obv you can't tell me, but I'm sure my ballot will help none of the contenders.)

I have submitted mine, and mercifully held Mountain Goats to 10th place, I believe...

So far my diary of thrills for 2009 reads 'poptimists poll results' and nothing else, so don't hang on too long waiting for slackers! I am more excited about it than for a few years which i think is due to being relatively relaxed at the moment rather than pop having been particularly interesting.

I'm quite excited as well, just to see if my findings are reflected in the results (I was also surprised to see what's on my top 10).

I fear that a great rift in votes for different Cassie tracks might leave her out of the running entirely. :(

I only voted for one Poptimist type song, I fully expect it to win.

I'm not voting because I was really terrible about listening to new things this year and as such do not feel qualified to comment, sorry.

Hitching a bus back to Montreal in a matter of minutes, which will give me a good two hours or so to finalize my list. It'll be in before I go out to celebrate this evening.

Making no predictions after being flabbergasted last year that I was the only person (if I remember right) to vote for About You Now.
