There are one or two there for whom that may be true, but my votes went to people who may well make more terrific music.

Probably, but there's also a celebratory aspect to it, and the nominations which I'm most sure will never contribute anything worthwhile again are also those I least feel like celebrating (that feeling whereby their current negative traits seep retroactively back to infect their earlier 'better' stuff). So I guess I'm going for Madonna, who probably will be good again at some point but whose subpar offering this year didn't infect her back catalogue at all.

Madge is the obvious choice for me - a genuine titan and there's at least a fighting chance she WON'T make anything very good again.
