I wish there was some kind of secret RSS feed for actually good ILX threads! I like Tim's taxonomy a lot.

La Roux' stiltedness kind of reminds me of Soft Cell's stiltedness (i.e. it's a 'good', jagged elbows stiltedness). I think it's almost impossible to come off as 'edgy' these days tho, and she's a mug for trying - Soft Cell had it easier.

Again on ILX, Kate said something OTM about edginess/quirkiness etc, which all of these acts are flagging up far too heavily - if you're really edgy or quirky, you don't have to bang on about it ever.

There's a difference between edgy and quirky isn't there? I know you don't approve of either!

But yes, saying you're quirky just means you're Timmy Mallett.
