sorry to say but what i heard of juvelen on last.fm radio i really didn't like - too 'histrionic' perhaps.

i meant that they none of their albums actually got released this year... if they had i'm pretty sure they would have been nominated. (and annie's was nommed even though it hasn't been released yet either.)

yeah, juvelen's histrionic voice is definitely his achilles heel. it took me a while to get used to; in order to be ok with it i had to decide that the screechiness wasn't him being faux-passionate as some kind of ironic posture or dodgy prince-aping move, but is actually his rather eccentric way of being expressive and soulful. (that doesn't necessarily make it easier to listen to, of course, but it might help.)
