Flutes in pop - Y/N?

There is a track by Trina which has a very good sample (or what I'm assuming is a sample) of a flute. It was probably released a couple of years ago.

Its unfortunate there isn't a lot more interesting wind, brass or string arrangements or samples -- and yes by interesting I mean closer to effects found in more modern composition (few even try). Furthermore most ppl say an outright 'N' to any sort of arrangement, commenting on the 'atrocious' saxophone line or what have you. I suppose people are so used to electronics and amplification it might be hard to adjust the eardrum to anything that is acoustic sounding apart from drums.
