Downloads might be killing off the album, but the Mercury dudes are carrying on regardless. This year's nominations are below, but do you poptimist folks actually listen to this sort of thing?

Only 2 listeners for Elbow?! That album is GENIUS. Not quite as good as the Burial album but amazing nonetheless.

2nd single is one off embarassing Embrace moment. Rest of the album is plenty maudlin but not much like Grounds For Divorce.

Radiohead and Arctics nominations so inevitable they're impossible to be inspired by, whatever their merits. Agree with comment that is much better than last year's simply by not including The View.

Even Elbow's 'cheerful' songs are bittersweet and melancholy. I think this is definitely their strongest album to date.
