Downloads might be killing off the album, but the Mercury dudes are carrying on regardless. This year's nominations are below, but do you poptimist folks actually listen to this sort of thing?

It's not the gothicness per se that's the problem - I'm a sucker for mournful, bleak folk - it's just strangely uninvolving over the length of the album. I dunno, maybe the inclusion of the jauntier tracks breaks the mood too much.
