Downloads might be killing off the album, but the Mercury dudes are carrying on regardless. This year's nominations are below, but do you poptimist folks actually listen to this sort of thing?

She didn't win, they gave it to Pulp in the end but said she was a close second, and the jury had only really considered them and none of the others.

once upon a time i could list the mercury winners IN ORDER, but now i get a bit confused and just start shouting GOMEZ!!! GOMEZ!!! WHAT WERE WE THINKING!!!!
