What is the worst record you have ever bought?

In the pub on Friday night we had a - really quite long - discussion about this album, which I paid good money for at age 14 (on audiocassette). I think it is probably the worst record I've ever bought, though I admit I haven't listened to it in almost 20 years.

The commenters who are outraged at the thought of someone disparaging Roger Waters is the best part.

Kill Uncle is probably the worst, despite my attempts to convince myself that it wasn't that bad.

The thing is, if you read the "summary" of Pros And Cons of Hitchhiking you can see that there's serious artistic intent behind it - and a real-time representation of waking and dream states over the course of a rock album isn't in itself a bad idea...

...but for the Waters fans it's like it stops there. The UNSPEAKABLE GULF between the idea of the record and what's actually ON THE DISC simply doesn't faze them. I wonder sometimes if these people's level of exposure to intelligent ideas outside of rock is so low that the slightest crumb of ambition is enough to satisfy them.
