ORGAFUN SNEAK PREVIEW!

England's group in the real actual World Cup - none too daunting.

Transfer to the POP world cup however and it's "Uh-oh!" - in a group with Trinidad's soca rhythms AND tournament favourites SWEDEN!!! (Not to mention dark horses Paraguay, erm)

Anyway running from January (when the advent calendar's over) to June (when the real actual w.c. starts), the POP WORLD CUP will be delighting, enthralling and yes polling you. I am not sure whether it will be running here (cos its pop) or on [livejournal.com profile] sukrat (cos it's WURLD MUSIC), or maybe BOTH inna Japan-Korea co-hosting kind of style.

Angola's biggest pop star

I can't see Sweden as favourites at all - I think England and the USA's strength in depth will see them to the final. Trinidad & Tobago rely too much on a couple of aging stars like David Rudder. No Jamaica, no India, and most of the traditionally strongest African nations - South Africa, Algeria, Zaire, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mali - unaccountably failed to qualify. Brazil will have plenty to offer as ever, as will of course Japan, cementing their place as a world giant, and Mexico could go a long way.

As long as Mexico are represented by El Mudo, I can't see how they'll fail to win.

I have a really good track, 'Lollipop' by Atlantik, who I think hail from 'Trinago'. As ever, it's on my home PC so hold tight for the YSI hopefully tonight.

The idea of just picking whichever acts are the highest in their respective countries at the time seems like the best way though, if charts for Togo etc. actually exist and can be found...
