On The 8th And 9th Day Of Wobs...
Dec. 9th, 2005 03:15 pmAnd the seventh day come to think of it: The O'Jays, offered again for people whose YSIs didn't work before.
And now onto an advent double bill:
Sugar Minnott and the Brentford Disco Set - "Christmas Jamboree"
A Studio One 7" (digitised by unknown benefactor) and one of the more lugubrious Wobs tracks you're likely to hear. Not because of any heart-breaking loneliness, oh no, Sugar Minnott wishes you a lot of Christmas fun, it's just he sounds like Droopy when he does it.

Duke Ellington - Sugar Rum Cherry
Picked up on a thread over at the Other Place, this is a gloriously woozy and ripe version of Tchaikovsky's Sugar Plum Fairy. (Great, evocative title too.)
