Date: 2008-02-01 07:18 pm (UTC)I get no real dislike for any of these (songs, not bands/artists), except perhaps Mutya for going Really Obvious with stuff indiekids have been doing since early Magnetic Fields at least. Must try harder.

See? Already started to fall. EMPIRICISM will show whether I'm premature here. I believe I will be proven WRONG in a few major cases, and RIGHT in the heryuge majority of them. No big deal, as I said, ^40 is DISQUALIFY.
(Heh Jeff that Plain WT is not at ALL bad I feel compared to certain ""indie" "hits"" of last year or so -- can we wish for generally smaller fish in barrel? prob no, it's still just barely February)

Date: 2008-02-02 11:16 am (UTC)Mutya is OK, though sadface at her missing the top 40! But not much more than OK.
I really want to do a US version of this but I don't have the poll facility :(

Date: 2008-02-02 11:45 am (UTC)Poll facility: hm I think I got that by just pressing a few buttons? Had to accept some advertising shenanigans or other though.

Date: 2008-02-02 11:37 am (UTC)Note btw that I use the traditional "week ending ..." dating system, ie the chart we've had for a week is counted as a February chart.

"interesting" stuff I learnt from wikipedia today
Date: 2008-02-02 04:18 pm (UTC)According to the label, the name "Test Icicles" is derived not from the word testicles but rather from an alleged practice of early man involving the "testing" of icicles for their strength and fitness for use as weapons. This, however, is extremely debatable considering the fact that a previous side project of band members Sam and Rory was named "Balls".
