If you read the plot summary of the eponymous story, it's almost exactly the opposite. No punching of Russians (ahem :) at all, just him at a dinner party where he is bored by non-spies! (really)

More seriously, although I think the Muse guess was right, i can also imagine an Eno track of the same name

My ex-husband believed Morbid Angel's "Blessed Are The Sick" was the best album ever made. He would probably be in ecstasy at the thought of this.

Sadly, Muse was the best suggestion so I have little to add. Evanessence would probably do it to, except they'd probably object to being type-cast as a "soundtracks band".
