Into the Top 10 - here's Nos. 10-7

10. AMERIE - "Gotta Work" (32 pts)

Hard working video, hard working sample, hard working lady.

9. GIRLS ALOUD - "Call The Shots" (37 pts)

Always a faint hint of the cheapo about the GA vidz despite expensive poolside location.

8. MIA - "Paper Planes" (42 pts)

Surely another Top 95 hit for MIA!

7. KLEERUP ft ROBYN - "With Every Heartbeat" (43 pts)

Her finest claymation hour.

All these are great*. Well done all [livejournal.com profile] poptimists!

*Even though 'Take Control' is way better :)

Yeah 'Take Control' is way way better. My favourite Amerie moment of the year though is on 'When Loving You Was Easy', when that dramatic crashing middle eight ends with the triumphant line "And I DIDN'T need to bring my choir to let you know you were wro-o-o-o-ong..."

I didn't think I knew "Gotta Work", but it turns out I've heard it and assumed it was a mid-table track on the Beyonce album. NB this is in no way incompatible with it being awesome!

I somehow appear to have missed Gotta Work completely, which is odd as I've heard almost all of the rest of the top 40 so far. And it's awesome!

Aww, "Gotta Work". I had a feeling LCD wasn't gonna make it but couldn't think of a substitute. (Note that as I write this LCD may still make it) This one really surprises me, but I do like the song a lot.
