WOBS
A question for you Poptimists this fine December morn.
Who is the ultimate Xmas artist?
I imagine many of you will immediately think of Westlife or Slade. But I have a name for you, and that name is Dina Carroll. Remember her? You never EVER hear her music during the year. But come Xmas-time, suddenly she's everywhere. I've heard 'The Perfect Year' twice in 48 hours - once on The Hits TV, and then this morning in the West One Shopping Centre at Bond St tube.
Any other artists you can think of who make a reappearance for a month each December and then vanish for 11 months?

Although he's usually around for about a week, with a few appearances as a talking head on repeats of Top 100 Christmas Songs programmes.
He could be dead for all I know.

(Presumably not just xmas parties, either)

Although Bing Crosby has to be the ultimate wobs artist. He did so many great Christmas songs, but I don't think I can name another song he did (other than things from movies).

Jona Lewis, check.
Wham increasingly so (or at least there will come a time)
The real winners = The Pogues & Kirsty McColl!

There will come a time for Wham, but not for a while. If we assume the younger limit for nostalgia is 7, and the upper limit for dancing like an fool at an office party is 45 (there are both very conservative assumptions), then Wake Me Up Before You Go Go has 14 years left in it.
