The moment we have all been waiting for with bated breath is finally HERE - I refer of course to the unveiling of the Legendary Ms Britney Spears' latest video communiqué with the world, her visual interpretation of 'Piece Of Me'.

This is what I posted on girlboymusic's post, where I found it (our consensus was initially FAIL, but ultimately HURRAH):

Seemed like a kind of lazy take on imagery she'd already blown us away with in the 'Everytime' video at first, there isn't too much OMG about it, but...she does win you over, she is funny. It's not my 'ideal' video, which would have involved at least that iconic photo of Crazy Britney brandishing the umbrella, but...actually it kind of makes me look at the song in a different way. On record it's dark and weird and angry - on video Britney reminds us that it's a really fun dance track too.

Also she looks...really relaxed and happy in the video! I feel happy for her after watching that."

My favourite bit is probably when she flips the camera off, giggling, or when she stands astride the paparazzo.

Also, I absolutely love the blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of two hot boys getting it on in a club which has nothing to do with the rest of the video at all.

The interesting thing is, not only did she jump the gun and make the proper video for this with "Everytime," but she kind of also jumped the gun on the whole idea with "Outrageous" (which I always imagined would have fake magazine covers like this, if they ever made a video).

My favorite bit comes at 54 seconds: "Extra, extra, this just in." (points to self) That's where I was like, "Okay, I'm with you." That, and the "can't help it" shrug, on the magazine cover with the busted paparazzo.

Also interesting how the balance of power has shifted since 'Everytime': in her life as documented by the tabloids the situation should be more unbearable than ever, but whereas in 'Everytime' Britney was hounded and tortured by the paparazzi, in 'Piece Of Me' she's playing with them. Playing with them like a CAT playing with a MOUSE.

'Outrageous'! Yes! I'd forgotten about that. That song was great.

Yep. That's what I was thinking. Plus there's at least 5 seconds of choreography going on there (Brit! You're A Good Dancer, so do some bloody dancing!) - someone's actually spent more than an afternoon making this video.

Yes! I love the magazine covers motif and when she busts the guy for wearing a wire in the loos, but the dancing is soooooooo unambitious. Also not really sure she needs the blondetourage - surely this song is about BRITBRITBRIT and doesn't need extraneous ladies jiggling about in the background?
