Girls Aloud have just released the theme tune to the new St Trinian's film - and it's as good as anything on their own album

(This is just a fanmade video by the way)

The lyrics in particular are great fun - and are as much a manifesto for Girls Aloud as being about the film, and the production is one of their punkiest yet.

"as good as anything on Tangled Up" = oh well, I guess we have come to the end of Girls Aloud as an important or great pop entity about whom we give a shit

http://girlsaloud.forums.umusic.co.uk/t/2035.aspx for full lyrics. let's not get upset about the use of 'chav' eh.

We are the best, so screw the rest
We do as we damn well please
Until the end
St Trinian's
Defenders of anarchy
ST TRINIAN'S!

So scan all the toffs, the neats and the freaks
Blackmail the goths, the slappers and the geeks
And if they complain, we'll do it all again
We do as we damn well please

The ASBOs, the chavs, the emos and their mates
To torment the slags, we offer special rates
And if they complain, we'll do it all again
Defenders of anarchy

the GREBOs, the crusties, and the goths
and the only living

wait, i made that last bit up

I've read these lyrics everywhere...but upon listening to the song, surely 'So SCAM all the toffs...' and 'ASBO the Chavs..' makes more sense?

You've all left this building, I guess, but is there anyone here who knows the rudiments of theory or just has better ears than me who can tell me what's going on in this melody and that seems "pre-rock" (like a combo of 18th century "classical" something or other and Mediterranean or Romanian dolefulness - in a very nondoleful song)?

I like this a lot, by the way.

Also, does this song date from the first film in the '50s, or is it a new one?

(Also, are the films or cartoons any good? I've never seen a one.)
