This is the one where he got a mate in to help him with the lyrics I think! It has the amazing "Now the beach is deserted EXCEPT FOR SOME KELP" line.

i've played it so rarely since bein dumped by E (and no longer having to "make an effort") that i can get right back into my testy 18-yr-old head, "why are grown-ups so stupid as to believe this stupid stuff is not completely stupid!?" bein the dominant theme

There a number of weird, meandering story songs on that. Joey = the Mafia are nice blokes. Black Diamond Bay = volcanos are bad but they happen a long way away. Really cartoonish takes on wanting to be a gangster/outlaw. Hurricane is actually brilliant though.

hurricane is terrifically exciting musically in a kind of hollywood gypsy way (not a bad thing!) but the between the silliness of half the words (lame rhymes effectively deflating the rhetoric every other verse*; lame ideas doing the rest) and the sneer he sings them in (what's it directed at? the cops? the jury? his co-writer? us?) it's totally disorientating

i like this now -- aged 18 i was much more judgmental and conformist (i want a PROPER EARNEST PROTEST SONG or none at all i guess)

*i missed out what "muhr-duhr" is an inner rhyme to = "we want to put his ass in stir" -- the fact that he STRESSES it the way he does is like saying "look! inner rhyme ahoy! IT'S RUBBISH ISN'T IT LISTENERS!?"
