at some point workin on the c0ntr0l essay and lookin back over stuff i realised that the thing that had always unsettled me MOST abt i.curtis = HIS TROUSERS

that's part of it -- but it's also the thinness and nature of the fabric, and the way the folds hang as a result! i ALWAYS felt "aargh that material is creasing in a sinister way!!" <--- yes yes HULLO LONELUNY but it is what i felt so it is a datum >:(

also i think the way it makes his legs look like doll's legs on an crepey 19th-century wooden doll
