Here are all the people who've been #1 in the Poptimists last.fm charts in the last 12 months (the # of weeks add up to more than 52, because there are very often ties).

The most listeners an artist has ever racked up is Rihanna, with 17 one week. The least is 6.

14 weeks: Belle And Sebastian
12 weeks: Girls Aloud
7 weeks: Rihanna, The Knife, Klaxons
6 weeks: MIA
4 weeks: Pet Shop Boys, David Bowie
3 weeks: Pulp
2 weeks: Justice, The Arcade Fire, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Justin Timberlake, New Order
1 week: Bjork, Patrick Wolf, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, The Long Blondes, Amy Winehouse, Annie, Architecture In Helsinki, Daft Punk, Sally Shapiro, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lady Sovereign, The Fall

As we've noted before, the thing about these charts is the fact that if I play the whole MIA album three times in one week and one song from Tigermilk happens to shuffle up, those get the same weighting in terms of the charts. So - before lex explodes in a splutter of flurry - all we really have here is confirmation that there are a fair number of (ex)Sinister members on poptimists.

If I have time later today, I'll go back and count up the top song, which has a slightly less random aspect to it.

indeed - still, BLECH for the most part. happily Radiohead did not get the honour this week! our old stalwarts GA and Sugababes did us proud.

this is bizarrely the only last.fm feature which isn't album-centric so I do actually like it like this.
