A couple of weeks ago we did a thread on what's exciting you about music at the moment.

Here's its inverse: what's annoying you about music at the moment, and why? I'm tempted to ban discussion of Kate Nash upfront - anyway I'm not really after specific acts, more the trends and ideas that make those acts' popularities a bad thing.

And - what do you think could be done about it (if anything)?

Booty Luv are more 'new' than eg Mutya's solo career, but they were still launched as being 'the girls from Big Brovaz'. This is nitpicking, I admit.

They are just glorified remixing, too. I was sort of scraping the barrel there. Still, I find the album magnificent on many levels. :D

Also they're hardly terrible but if "cheap dance covers of old r&b songs, none of which really add much at all bar the whiff of alcopop" is the best we can do...well.
