Date: 2007-10-08 09:45 pm (UTC)I can't think of a worse lyricist offhand, we all know bad lyrics but they're usually bad because the writer has tried to overreach themselves and fallen on their face, I can't think of anyone with the fucking temerity to try to pass these BORING, UNFUNNY, NON-INSIGHTS off as pop or art and then to look and sound so fucking pleased with themselves for it.

Date: 2007-10-09 02:10 am (UTC)I didn't have any problem getting through it at all, found it kind of enjoyable, really. Don't see how her plinky piano is considerably different from anyone else's plinky piano. But I also haven't spotted a "phony" British accent since Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

The closest I could get to is if Tallulah, from the last series of Dr Who, made a record about brushing her teeth in her terrible fourth-hand Noo Yoik accent, but that was a Brit pretending to be an American.
