TB Reporting Back

Thanks to competitors and spectators at yesterday's Trig Brother, an event slightly marred by our underestimating i. how long the various tasks would take ii. how drunk the Lex was. It devolved into a bit of a shambles but there were plenty of highlights before that - dubdobdee's romance with a rabbit, the 99 Problems for Jay-Z, Filthy Enid, and Al's eye-popping diagnosis of the evils of modern music (which has been preserved on video).

In the end catsgomiaow emerged as a deserving winner, with Al second and Jill third following the Lex's disqualification (does Jill have an LJ?).

Afterwards a lot of us went to karaoke at the One Tun - an underattended event with a very friendly (& tolerant) compere and an excellent song selection so I'm sure we'll go again. (There, look, pop content).

I don't remember what happened or when I left or anything! I do remember being back at home scandalously early and trying to make plans to go out again, scuppered by being unable to walk without falling over. How come I was disqualified? ROBBED for the second year running I feel.

Dude you left when you FELL DOWN THE STAIRS at the Fitzroy Tavern and basically got chucked out! And the barmaid gave me REALLY EVIL LOOKS for the rest of the evening :( No more wine for you The Lex!

But I remember leaving the Fitzroy when I was voted back in! I remember Filthy Enid and Ebeneezer Goode - I am not sure what order these came in - and then we were the last three and then NOTHING. It was very mean of the pub to chuck me out.

We were down to the last three in the - Carpenter's Arms? - which was where Ebeneezer Goode took place. Then we LEFT the Carpenter's Arms to go back to the Fitzroy for the final task and vote. You kept running off the wrong way at top speed and when we finally made it to the Fitzroy you basically staggered in there, lurched around the bar, and then fell down the stairs leading to the basement room. I think Al looked after you for a bit and Gareth mopped you up...

Yes we basically palmed you off on Gareth right at the end and went back inside to finish off the game. This was after you wandered round in circles for a while in the road outside the Carpenters Arms, so Al and I had to grab you by both arms and frogmarch you, struggling, in the direction of the Fitzroy.

If it helps, you were probably saved from a sound beating in the final. Your rendition of Ebeneezer Goode was very good though.

I had a very good time, to be honest the wheels only really came off when we were back in the Fitzroy. That said, the Carpenters Arms was far too innocent a pub for that late in the crawl. It looked like the front room of a genteel guest house in Eastbourne.
