Daer Poptimists,
I am very very very sorry indeed for bellowing "YOU BUNCH OF INDIE B@STARDS" when [livejournal.com profile] jauntyalan (was it Alan? oh dear the memory's hazy on this point) played THE JAM at Poptimism last night. Paul said he had no idea my voice could be so loud. Today I have NO VOICE and a thumping headache.

What a smashing night! I even HUGGED A TINY BABY and remembered to take home the book that [livejournal.com profile] martinskidmore kindly gave me, so yay :)
Love
katie xx

Quite possibly the best one I've ever been to. I feel daisylike, but with a hint that there may be doom to come, quite literally like dark clouds gathering in mine head.

Not that I haven't paid a cost: a certain tiny screw from my glasses has disappeared, and my phone won't turn on. But even with that, totally worth it!

It was AWESOME. A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

Although I was probably MUCH MUCH DRUNKER than I thought I was so apols to anyone who had to endure me rambling along about something that had no apparent relevance to anything.

You are all v. good looking people.

Yeah these last few Poptimisms have been among the best ever, definitely up there with the Polar Bear/Chapel Bar glory days. Also LOADS of people I met for the first time. Hello people I met for the first time.

I am SO PROUD that London Bootleg Orchestrating that Komatrohn record with 'Where's Your Head At?' has become a Poptimism tradition.

Also can anyone remember what song I did the 'jumping on my housemate and doing the helicopter movement' thing to this time?

harrumph ;) it's a lovely song, why you sing over it?

as you possibly missed it, being bizzy, we also threw in a quick round of Ticket To Ride for old times' sake. it tailed off well with 'my baby don't care' (repeat and fade)

not me. heard no jam by the time i left. which was just before 1 i think. blame steve/pete (the odds are on STEVE).

apols for a slightly (ahem) indulgent 2nd set, though first half was crowd pleasing enough, and a small group of people REALLY appreciated Rogue Element. love to know who you were.

i had an awesome time too. feel curiously awake right now. it is the beer re-circulating.

Rogue Element crowd = [livejournal.com profile] ultraruby's friends [livejournal.com profile] dr_f_dellamorte, and [livejournal.com profile] bigcat23 IE Codex Machine who have been remixing that track (presumably officially) over the last few days.

the youngest ever poptimist had fun too (he expresses enjoyment by sleeping soundly y'see) as did his mother. even if I still can't hold a conversation due to combined tiredness / baby brain.

I'm quite impressed I can still talk this morning, as I totally felt my voice give out during the mass emote to 'total eclipse of the heart' and again in 'i love this bar' and possibly during the triumphant return of the London Bootleg Orchestra as well.

that was SO FUN, you guys,

I'm quite exercised that I missed Total Eclipse Of The Heart. I'll just have to come to another one and not miss it. Twas excellent -really liked the venue as well. Roof punching is also a good hardcore dancing move.

That explains the mysterious unidentified grazing on my hand.

I have NO IDEA who most of you people were but you all seemed very nice. Come back again!

hmm I am v. sorry I missed this, as ever. sitting here trying to write a research grant application listening to Dragonforce is definitely not up there with a good poptimism :-(

You also lent me your sparkly eyeshadow while we chatted about randomness in the loos - it was nice to meet you!

Also, it was a top night and until just now I'd forgotten about Total Eclipse of the Heart!

At one stage in the night I noticed a bar hanging from the ceiling, with a couple of lights attached to it, attempted to run up, jump and swing on it, actually missed it altogether and skidded right across the floor on my arse, very painfully. IDIOT MATT DC.

It was a grand night - thank you very much!

(ow, though. Still swaying slightly. Think I went a leetle bit over my three drink limit)

Also, I now realise that hardcore dancing doesn't go down so well at Poptimists...

dude we had a breakdancing throw down

That may be, but my hardcore dancing was questioned. The windmilling, specifically; the floor-punching just raised bemused stares.
