Launched in 1967, as a direct response to the growing popularity of
offshore pirate stations such as Radio Caroline, Radio 1 set out to
appealtoa younger audience which previously hadn't been catered for
by the BBC. The first DJ to broadcast on Radio 1 was Tony Blackburn and
the station's initial DJ line-up included the likes of Terry Wogan,
Kenny Everett, Jimmy Young and Ed Stewart.
Throughout its 40 year history the station has continued its remit of
bringing new music to its young listenership. DJs such as Steve Lamacq,
Westwood, Trevor Nelson, Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and John Peel, have all

A Town Called Malice by McFly
Love Is The Drug by Kylie (this will surely be awesome)
Hard-Fi covering Britney (sorry world!)
Genuinely DO NOT WANT to hear:
Everything else but especially the bits with The Fratellis, James Morrison and motherfucking MIKA covering the motherfucking POLICE ARGH NO.
Really, whoever organised this should be dragged out into the street and garotted with it. What a load of utterly awful, totally transient wank. Will even a tenth of these artists be around in three years? My arse they will, etc.
I rly, rly hope I can get Fraser from (Radio 1) Chartblog to let us write something slagging it all off. We seem to get away with this due to three and a half teenagers reading the blog.

Rather than "Crazy For You" by Madonna, my vote is that Groove Armada should cover "Crazy For You" by Let Loose instead.

I suspect that whoever wrote this press release is an utter, utter, utter cunt. And indeed possibly that they are, in fact, Zane Lowe.
Would be interesting to know which of that lot discovered and brought to the youthful masses Ronan Keating.
THANKS FOR THIS
