Pop science takes its second faltering step onwards to Now II - still no pig on the cover, but this is plainly one of the best records ever. Just how good will be decided by YOU as you tick all the songs that you LIKE. Comments, arguments and 'who the marlowe were Julia and Company?' in the comments box.

As for Now 1, a four-way tie leads us to a tie breaker (at the bottom of this poll) - Heaven 17 vs Bonnie Tyler vs The Cure vs Human League BLIMEY. When Poptimism eventually returns we may have a special night where we play the BEST TRACK from EVERY Now album, so choose wisely.

The WORST songs on Now 1, proven by science, are UB40's "Please Don't Make Me Cry" and Limahl's "Only For Love". Poor old Limahl.

I was going to say that I have it, but of course I don't, it was just on the best radio channels in GTA:Vice City. Though there's always the soundtrack (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000071WZM), which I really should pick up one of these days.

I own the Nena, Smiths, Bowie, Slade and Cyndi Lauper. I like three of these better than anything on Now 1. Sadly I somehow didn't notice Relax on these while marking some as not bad, and I would have given it a nod, so Tom, you can use that as some sort of tie-break help if you want.

That isn't even the best bit of Total Eclipse, because it isn't the bit which goes "Living In A Powder Keg And GIVING OFF SPARKS!". Were there ever any tabloid scandals because kids took this too literally?

You kno, I think Love Cats is one of the most overrated Cure songs EVER! I mean, yeah, but like... loads of other songs are much better! I think it has been corrupt'd by the horrible sight of it getting played in goth clubs and goths pretending to be cats at each other URGH GO AWAY

Lex, John Wayne is on one of them coming up*! As part of a title rather than the performer. It's about his cock.

*I have not actually checked if this is true, but the timing seems about right.
