("Total Ranking Points" is an addition of inverse rankings i.e. 11 points for 1st place, 10 points for 2nd. "Goal Difference" was meant to follow it closely, which it does, but not quite closely enough, so next time I'll use TRP as the tie-breaker.)

If I end up playing Lex I won't have to worry about trying to get his vote and therefore trying to choose something he doesn't know, so I can use a Paris Hilton track!

W00t! Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, that's me. It'll do.

Versus the Lex, though! I'm going to have to pull something special out of the bag for this.

Ditto, the amount of times I came SECOND was insane.

Hurrah for us bridesmaids though.

Helloween [Bad username or site: jel bugle @ livejournal.com] would be more pop than our hostess [livejournal.com profile] katstevens?!

I second this motion (well, actually 'third', I think, since [livejournal.com profile] freakytigger and [livejournal.com profile] dubdobdee already proposed and seconded this some weeks back): jel is the "poptimist's poptimist". Seriously, Dragonforce are the real winners of the League on moral grounds.

Oh dear, let's hope I can do better in the Open! My excuse: for much of this competition I have been trying to either find somewhere to live or pack boxes of my possessions, and my song research has been somewhat un-thorough. And then when I do find a good song, the recipient inevitably knew it already! Bums.

The comments are brilliant. Especially "I feel slightly violated"

In the latest news from the Calamitous Koganbot Teen Of Pop Counterrankings, [livejournal.com profile] martinskidmore's strong but overfamiliar play fails to gain him additional points; new additions to [livejournal.com profile] braisedbywolves's squad fail to produce, but vets still give him an outside chance; meanwhile [livejournal.com profile] byebyepride's long-abandoned title hopes don't stop his enthusiasm, though where that leads him is unclear.

In other words, Martin's still atop the board, but I'm going to give things a relisten, which could shuffle the standings. However, Andrew's title hopes depend on last-minute support not only from Sinead O'Connor's flimsy stylizations but from at least one overlooked player off the bench. Alex is deep in the pack and is almost certain not to place first, but has a couple of strikers who might (or might not) capitalize on a delayed result.

Btw, how does this playoff business work? Do I get sent the songs or, err, well I dunno.
