Nostalgic as I have been for a Chart Show style show back on normal TV I decided I would have a go at making one myself, to see if the format can still work today. Digital music-dedicated channels and sites like YouTube provide the content but the problem is there's no decent filter. I'm convinced a concentrated hour long programme dedicated to showcasing brand new pop music videos is still useful for this reason. So I had a look at the release schedule for singles in May via chartsingles.net, searched youtube for each song to see if there was a video already up (this took a few hours), picked what i thought were the best ones (as either songs or videos - whilst wanting there to be a fairly decent balance genre-wise but with more of an 'edge' more of the time unlike The Chart Show), found a nifty mechanism online to download the vids from youtube and used Premiere to put together a rough and ready demonstration (ft. animated title sequences 'sampled' by some awesome Japanese dudes) which you can watch on DailyMotion (YouTube doesn't allow clips over 10 minutes long bah) here:

promozone stills

Promozone part 1 (features Dizzee Rascal, Mutya, The Harrisons, N-Dubz, Ultra Nate)

Promozone part 2 (features LCD Soundsystem, Bonde Ro Role, Grizzly Bear, snippets of 10 other singles out this month inc. Therese, Kelley Polar, Modest Mouse and R Kelly, Mims vs Toto)

Promozone part 3 (features Husky Rescue, The Cribs, Chung King, Hellogoodbye, Justice and Mr V)

More details on the website. you can also download/stream the original wmv clips here (i'm going try and make shorter versions for YouTube and also ipod-friendly downloads ideal for commuters). This is just a demo for now and there are creases to iron but let me know what you think. Complain about the music if nothing else ;)
