JUDGE POP is back
Apr. 12th, 2007 01:51 pmAnother week, another case for JUDGE POP. This time he's investigating an outbreak of TWEE on the streets of MEGA CITY POP. The good Judge has his suspects - Belle And Sebastian, ten-year indie pop veterans who regularly turn up high on the Poptimists last.fm charts. Are they a credit to pop - or a menace?
[Poll #965057]
If Belle And Sebastian are cubed, they will join PATRICK WOLF, who was narrowly found guilty last time the good Judge's services were called upon.

Date: 2007-04-12 01:07 pm (UTC)1. I like their inclusive spirit.
2. I like a lot of their tunes.
3. Indirectly responsible for me knowing lots of my friends.
Anti:
1. Their inclusive spirit extends to letting people who aren't Stuart Murdoch do the songs.
2. I haven't liked many of their tunes since about 2000.*
3. Indirectly responsible for Snow Patrol.
*they are another of those bands my listening life is littered with who got rub pretty much as soon as I started liking them. Except for "Stay Loose" which is grebt in bits.

Date: 2007-04-12 01:37 pm (UTC)My B&S verdict: the first 3 albums great (and the EPs), the rest rather rub.
(they were sort of responsible for tompaulin, in that Jamie decided to form that band at the first Bowlie Weekender)
