League Of Pop Week Four Nominations

Week Three update - sent a YSI link to jeff_worrell yesterday. bengraham wanted his on CD so I'm sending that over today, and when he lets me know he's received it I'll upload the tracks.

This week it's the turn of hauntedballroom in the Pop Premiership and poptasticuk in the Chart Championship: two very different challenges!

hauntedballroom says: "my name is laura and I'm 25. i live in manchester. my top five musical things I've sort of grouped thematically 1. dreamy noise like 'the haunted ballroom' by the caretaker, 'serene trajectories' by birchville cat motel or 'subliminal genocide' by xasthur. 2. any kind of girl-pop like m.i.a., x-ray spex, bikini kill or the slits. 3. unusual instrumental music like tomita's 'space walk', esquivel, raymond scott's 'soothing sounds for baby' and hawaiian records. 4. pretty dance music like pantytec, herve ak, gui boratto, and anders ilar. 5. noisy music like melt-banana, anal cunt, and magik markers."

poptasticuk says: "I'm a 19 yr old female English Lit student, from Oxford but living in Brighton at the moment, but that doesn't mean anything really - all you need to know is I love pop music more than life itself and my general philosophy is the poppier the better. Things I like:
1. Music that is unrealistically cheerful
2. Boybands (I challenge you to find one I don't know)
3. Electro-pop with an emphasis on the pop
4. Dramatic key changes
5. Good music in Swedish (I'm currently learning the language)"

I wouldn't say that. I think Jessica would like "Typical Girls" or "Germ Free Adolescents" just fine. In fact, if I had them on something other than vinyl...

I did love Bucky Done Gun, Galang and Sunshowers, although I can't see much to like about Bird Flu.

it was so hard to explain what i liked in five things though! i like girl-pop like britney, beyonce, amerie, rihanna and also like robyn, annie, cassie etc. but i was trying to convey that i like most girl-fronted things as well. i think i would love a lot of the things that the other player lists!
