I am quivering with anticipation for Martin and Julio's reviews.

Tom - I hope there will be a decent interval between the reviews appearing and the tracks being identified by you. It will give us all a chance to be in the reviewer's shoes for a bit. Also, it will be fun trying to spot your own song on the basis of the review (and probably guessing wrong).

I have been trying to remember all day what one of the songs I recognize on one of the two leagues is, and am now feeling very smug that it came to me as I was crossing the road earlier!

Last night I did a little experiment with the tracks - I have a program (http://www.musicip.com) that does "acoustic fingerprinting" of mp3 files, and based on that, it can look up the artist, tracks, album. (Obviously this is difficult if not impossible for very new stuff or rare mixes that won't be in the matching database.)

I will be curious to see how effective it is on these tracks, where we have no tags at all to guess from.

for some reason i was convinced that i should submit "Love is Alive" by Gary Wright for moggy this week. but i did not, and instead went for something which even "obscure" would be too generous. will be an interesting test of the "if only more people had heard this" theory...
