With mother and new baby both getting some much needed shut-eye I find myself with some free time - what better way to use it than with a POLL!

[Poll #883020]

Coming soon - the nursery rhyme canon!

According to werk database there is a song called "Daddy On Prozac" by Joseph Arthur. Also "Give Daddy The Knife, Cindy" by Naz Nomad & The Nightmares. That one sounds amazing!

Mack Daddy by Sir Mix-a-lot!

Papa was a rolling stone - which would have been my favourite if it was on there.

The Father of a Son (by Sweden's the Ark, about wanting to be a gay dad). It's marvellous.

And some less appropriate ones:
The Father Who Must be killed (Morrissey)
Daddy don't touch me there (Noblesse Oblige)

I don't know if it just won't let me fill this out or whether I have cheated and filled it out twice or what. :/ I don't actually know what any of these songs sound like apart from Boney M, which I never liked and Aphex Twin, which is one of Aphex Twin's two half-decent songs.

Like [livejournal.com profile] lockedintheatti I was trying to suggest Noblesse Oblige. Probably not the best for a small child mind, what with it being actually the scariest song ever.

There's a rubbish GA song on What Will The Neighbours Say? with Daddy in the title. Again, probably not particularly appropriate.

That's one of my favourite songs off WWTNS! It's all about how LYING TO YOUR PARENTS is A GOOD THING. Inappropriate, yes. Not as inappropriate as the Kelis though.

'Oh Father' is gorgeous.

Also this is more of a MUM track but I will try and upload 'Gold Dust' by Tori Amos for you, it is a v moving NEW BABY song.

You forgot Cats In The Cradle! Which given its subject matter is probably a good thing. Also the entire back catalogue of Papa Roach.

Perhaps you should play the winning tune to Lytton. Oh, it appears to Come To Daddy. Maybe not then.

Also the entire back catalogue of Papa Roach.

I actually laughed out loud for a very extended period of time upon reading this, although it took me some time to realise you were referring to the 'Papa' in the name and not the 'singers that are mad at their dad' genre.

ugh, Dance With My Father. There's radio call-in advice show that plays this song whenever some pour soul calls in about having a father just die, or having no one to give her away at her wedding, etc etc.
